3 Elements Art Inspiration

How did I get here???

With Mother Nature as my guide,  I have worked with fabric, plants & stones all my life. The variety of colours, textures & designs that Nature provides has always inspired me.  After teaching for many years, I went to art college & took the courses I could never fit into my teaching degree.  It was a simple goldsmithing course that ignited the fire in me to add metal to the mix.

Re-purposing found objects like sea glass, wood, leather & old metal to give them a new life has always been my great passion.  To change the energy & purpose of an abandoned object into something beautiful was so fulfilling.  As a result, most of my creations are “one of a kind”.

My metal work is created by hand - drawing on metal, etching, forging shapes through hammering & folding & adding colour with fire.  I love to re-purpose brass bullet casings - to alter their energy into unique jewelry. I like to hand dye silks & mix them with wood & metal & sea glass that I‘ve collected from around the world.

Most of my pieces of jewelry have some sort of movement to them.  As I said before Nature is my  inspiration & with that comes constant movement – water, trees, earth, sky …  Everyday I see, touch or hear something new & that is a catalyst to create …
